This is our second Yamaha generator EF5500D. As with the first it arrived exceptionally well packed and was rolled right into the garage by the delivery service. Purchased the second generator for our son and his family since we are so pleased with the first one we purchased in 2022. Again, exceptionally well packed professionally delivered, and the set up was easy. We purchased the pull start and both are easy to pull ,and start right up on the second or third pull No problem and I in my 70s. We use them as whole house generators, and I’ve had some unusually bad weather here in Northern Michigan.

Easy to install battery…just follow the directions. Filled up with oil, and added some fuel.. Started up immediately, ran for about an hour. I also have a Yamaha 2000 generator which is great. Upgraded to the 3000 for additional power. Looking forward to using it more.

Great example of Japanese engineering and manufacturing excellence. The build quality is unbelievable. No corners were cut to lighten this machine solely for weight's sake; it is definitely hefty. It started with the first turn of the key out of the box, and the engine is turbine-smooth and very quiet. I bought this for home back-up; I'm confident my neighbors' will have a hard time hearing it. The weight concerned me, as I knew I'd have to move it from my garage to my back yard for outages, and the wheels would not be compatible with the terrain involved. So, I put it on a utility cart; problem solved. These units are an absolute bargain at the current prices, and National Supply's customer service is first-rate. This was a great purchasing experience all the way around for me.
